The excitement of constantly checking the post to see if my package from http://www.amazon.co.uk arrived with my teal coloured Le Creuset pan was becoming obsessive, but as soon as it came, I ripped through the pack gently and voila, lifted out a piece of culinary art. By the weekend – it came mid-week, I as scanning cookbooks for tips, but just thought go ahead try something, so I did.

I seasoned about 10 pieces of chicken with French herbs, 4 cloves of fresh garlic – the ones with the shoots attached at the top, some salt and black pepper and left for about 5 hours in the fridge. Got out my pan, washed it and when I was ready, placed enough olive oil in the pan to cover the base, turned the oven on to 180C and the stove to about medium to hot. I fried the chicken until browned, sprinkled with green paprika and juice of half a lemon and one onion roughly chopped and placed in the oven for about 30 minutes and that was it.

So what did I like about this experience ? Well ! the chicken cooked so quickly and the texture and the succulency of the chicken…. hmmmmm. I got the pan for about $70 – it was on sale, but it was so worth it, just for what it can do.
